Your hosts. The Nicas Family and the the Staff, welcome you and yours to the Castle. A massive stone replica of a
16th century Castle complete with turrets, towers and a moat located on Route 9 in Leicester, Massachusetts.
Since 1950 the Nicas Family, has owned and operated the Castle. Helen and Stanley and their three children:
James, Evangeline and John along with daughter-inlaw Denise and the Nicas' five grandchildren Nicole, Alexander,
Charles, Laurier and Jack are coming up the ranks; and look forward for an opportunity to serve you.
The Castle has represented the epitome of fine dining for over forty years. The Castle offers two distinctive
dining rooms and menu. . The Crusader Room, a casual dining room, serves both lunch and dinner in a family style
atmosphere. The Camelot Room, a classical dining room, offers the guests such entrees as Rack of Lamb,
Chateaubriand, Steak au Poivre, and a Seasonal Game Selection nightly.
The Castle's Knights of the Round Table Lounge offers an array of fine Wine, Cocktails, Cordials and Specialty
Coffee Drinks for those who enjoy relaxed surroundings and the company of good frends.
The Castle's Bakeshop provides the fresh breads served daily and desserts for the international Dessert Carte
which is a sweet ending to any dinner. Come join us in the lounge for dessert and coffee for afternoon tea or to
end a long day.
In the Winter, the Castle's fire place provides an intimate atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy either lunch,
dinner or a quiet drink by the fire. In the Summer, The Castle offers luncheon and early evening cocktails and
appetizers on their beautiful flagstone Patio overlooking Lake Sargent and the Castle's own Herb Gardens.
Sunday Afternoons in July and August, the Castle welcomes you to join them for "Jazz on the Patio"
featuring some New England's fine musicians.
The Castle Wine Cellar is one of the finest in the Country. The Wlne List has won The Wlne Spectator's Grand
Award of Excellence each year since 1985. Maitre d'lames Nicas, the Castle's cellarmaster conducts a series
of wine tastings monthly promoting the education and enjoyment of fine wines.
Together with his brother. Chef John Nicas creates exciting, innovative menus for special wine dinners several
times a year including the Castle's Christmas Feast and Annual Game Dinner.
Whether small family business function or wedding the Castle has Banquet Facilities to accomodate your needs.
When a warm atmosphere, fine food and attentive service are what you desire then the Castle is there to serve
you and your guests royally. Functions up to 125 persons are held in the King's Court Room.
Voted Best Romantic Restaurant and Best Wine List Yearly by the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the Castle is
the perfect place to bring that special person in our life. In 1981 the Castle was awarded the Ivy Award from
Restaurants and Institutions Magazine. Naming it "One of the Best Restaurant in the United States".
This award is presented by peers in the Hospitality Industry and hence is prized by the Nicas Family.
The Mobil Travel Guide and AAA have rated the Castle for fine dining in New England as well.
For over forty years, the Castle has participated in an Apprenticeship Training Program. Apprentice Chefs fine
tune their expertise in a three year program sponsored by the American Culinary Feberation in the Castle's
kitchen. Everything is made on the premises as in a classical European apprenticeship training program in
which, Stanley Nicas was trained in his youth.
